From Lowtide To Hightide
If you’ve been with us awhile, you might know our original terry toweling assortment, which we called the Lowtide when we launched. It was one of our only items in the collection at the time that wasn’t sustainable. We did it because we absolutely loved how the fabric felt. It reminded us of being wrapped up in our favorite beach towel.
In the years since, our friends and customers kept asking for us to bring this concept back. We wanted to make it happen, but it was imperative that we make them responsibly this time around, so we got to work and eventually we landed on the perfect mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester fibers. Organic cotton for the softness and recycled poly for the long-lasting durability. Just as soft as the original, but even better for the planet!
Our Hightide series is a great example of the constant evolution Outerknown has gone through over the years.
ORGANIC COTTON X RECYCLED POLYESTER
We love organic cotton because it cuts out all the harmful synthetic chemicals used to grow conventional cotton, making for safer working conditions for farmers and a healthier planet. And by using recycled synthetic fibers, we can save resources, cut pollution, and keep plastic waste in circulation and outta the ocean.
Continuing to expand the assortment, we now offer crewnecks, hoodies, sweatpants, sweatshorts, and even a polo made out of this towel-soft material. Not only have these become best sellers, they’re also our personal favorites for early morning surfs and hitting the beach! Choosing the sustainable path has never felt better.
